Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
The short version:
- The account belongs to the parent. Kids never sign in.
- We ask for each kid’s age, interests, and whether ideas should fit a boy, a girl, or either. Never their name or photo.
- No ads. We don’t sell or share your data for advertising.
- Delete your account in the app at any time and your family’s data goes with it.
Fun Factory is an iPhone app that helps parents and caregivers find activities, crafts, and games to do with their kids. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. “We” and “us” mean Fun Factory.
Who the app is for
Fun Factory is for adults. The parent or caregiver creates the account and uses the app. Children do not have accounts, cannot sign in, and cannot message anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at privacy@funfactorykids.com and we will delete it.
What we collect
Your account
- Your sign-in details: the email address and name that Sign in with Apple or Google shares with us (Apple may give us a private relay address), or the email address and password you choose. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider as a secure hash.
Your household profile and survey answers
- For each kid you add: their birth year and month (so we can match activities to their age), the kinds of activities they like, and your answer for who those ideas should fit, stored as boy, girl, or either. We do not ask for kids’ names, photos, or schools.
- Your survey answers about your household, such as indoor or outdoor, how much time you have, how much mess is okay, and whether kids do activities together.
How you use the app
- The activities recommended to you, the ones you save, and the ones you mark as done.
- Usage events such as “survey completed” or “filter used”. These are sent to Google Analytics at the household level and never include kids’ ages, names, or your email.
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics, such as device model, operating system version, app version, and error details.
- If you allow reminders: a push token, the platform (such as iOS), and your device’s timezone. We use those to send a weekend idea, a reminder about an activity you saved, and an occasional note if you have not opened the app in a while. The notification may name an activity. It does not include a child’s name, age, or birthdate, or your email.
Subscriptions
- Purchases are made through Apple. We never see or store your card details. Apple sends us a signed record of your subscription (the product, purchase and renewal dates, trial status, and a transaction identifier) so we can unlock the library.
This website
- Standard server logs from our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested.
- Google Analytics on this website, which sets a cookie so we can see which pages are visited. We use it to understand the site, not to advertise, and we turn off ad personalization.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To match activities that fit your kids’ ages, interests, and your survey answers.
- To keep your saved activities and “done together” history across devices.
- To check whether your subscription or free trial is active.
- To find and fix bugs, and to understand which parts of the app are working.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To send the reminders you allow, in your device’s timezone.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not show ads in the app.
Service providers we use
We use a small number of companies to run Fun Factory. They process data on our behalf and only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase for sign-in and our database.
- Vercel to host this website and our app’s server.
- Cloudflare to store and serve activity photos.
- Google (Gemini API) to help write the one-line reason each activity fits. We send kids’ ages and interests and your survey answers, never names or contact details.
- Google Analytics for website page views, and Firebase Analytics for the iOS app (which screens and funnel steps happen). We do not send an advertising ID, kids’ ages, names, or your email.
- Sentry for crash reports and performance diagnostics.
- Apple and Google for Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, and App Store payments, under their own privacy policies.
- Expo to deliver reminders to Apple’s push service. We send the push token and the notification text. We do not send a child’s name, age, or your email.
- Loops to email you about your trial and your weekend plan. We send your email, your name, and whether you are on a free account, a trial, or a paid subscription. We do not send your kids’ names, ages, or survey answers.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, household profile, and history for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove it then. Backups of that data are cleared within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your kids’ ages and interests, or retake the survey, at any time in the app.
- Turn reminders off under You, or in iOS Settings. Deleting your account deletes the push token.
- Delete your account in the app under You → Account → Delete account. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Access, correct, or export your data, or ask a question about it, by emailing privacy@funfactorykids.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we honor those requests.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is limited to the people who need it, and our database enforces row-level access so each account can only read its own household. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep what we collect to the minimum the app needs.
Where data is processed
Fun Factory is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
